The principals of SSI are steeped in a unique combination of
terrorism expertise and in-depth knowledge of security. With diverse
expertise and experience the company develops security programs,
emergency response plans and the design of security systems
specializing in the critical infrastructure protection of water,
power, and administrative facilities.
The water supplied to U.S. communities is potentially vulnerable to
terrorist attacks by insertion of biological agents, chemical
agents, or toxins. The possibility of attack is of considerable
concern. These agents could be a threat if they were inserted at
critical points in the system; theoretically they could cause a
large number of casualties. The primary threats to the nation's
water and power facilities are contamination by chemical, biological
or radiological agents; damage, destruction, or sabotage of physical
infrastructure; and disruption to computer systems.
At SSI we create a Protection Task Force to ensure that activities
to protect and secure water and power supply infrastructure are
comprehensive and are carried out expeditiously.
We implement steps that can be taken to protect the sources of
supply and their infrastructure, which includes securing pumping
stations, treatment facilities, and computer systems:
-
Gather
extensive data on the facility
-
Establish
data on existing security program and systems
-
Determine
what flaws exist within the entire infrastructure
-
Develop a
response program that provides prevention,
mitigation and business continuity
-
Recommendations/Application of Current TechnologyAssist
in devising an ERP (Emergency Response Plan) that
incorporates the internal organization with other
entities
